Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 8, 2026

eCartBill ("we", "us", or "our") provides point-of-sale billing software for shops and retailers in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have when you use our website, mobile app, and related services (collectively, the "Service").

1. Information we collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account information — name, email address, phone number, shop name, role (shopkeeper, admin), and login credentials you provide during registration.
  • Business & billing data — products, prices, categories, bills, receipts, payment method (cash, UPI, card), optional customer mobile numbers, and sales history generated through the POS.
  • Device & usage data — app version, device type, IP address, browser type, and diagnostic logs needed to operate and secure the Service.
  • Support communications — messages you send when contacting us for help or onboarding.

2. How we use your information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the eCartBill POS platform
  • Authenticate users and enforce account roles and permissions
  • Generate bills, receipts, reports, and sales analytics for your store
  • Process onboarding, plans, and subscription-related requests
  • Respond to support inquiries and send service-related notices
  • Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
  • Comply with applicable laws and lawful requests

3. Legal basis

We process personal data as needed to perform our contract with you (providing the Service), based on your consent where required, and where necessary for our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable billing platform.

4. Data storage & security

Your data is stored on servers with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and access controls. While we take reasonable measures to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Shop billing data is scoped to your account. Shopkeepers can access only their own products and bills unless an authorized administrator assists with onboarding or support.

5. Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only:

  • With service providers who help us host, operate, or support the platform
  • When required by law, court order, or government request
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of eCartBill, our users, or the public
  • With your explicit consent

6. Data retention

We retain account and billing records for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion subject to applicable retention requirements.

7. Your rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or update your personal information
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based
  • Object to or restrict certain processing activities

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@ecartbill.in or via our Contact Us page.

8. Cookies & analytics

Our marketing website may use essential cookies to remember preferences and basic analytics to understand how visitors use the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

9. Children's privacy

eCartBill is intended for business use by shop owners and staff. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
